can you wear pajamas in public?

I am having a down day and my clothing of choice has been my Jammie's.  Well the bottoms to be exact.  Black printed Capri's that I have accessorized with black knee highs (compression but that is another blog), my comfy new black and navy slippers, proper underwear and a black top.  After all, someone might come to the door.

A few years ago I waged the pajama war with my Grand daughter.  She had just started high school and some of the girls were choosing this mode of dress. No doubt they were inspired by this  ........

  However, they ended up looking like that......  

The war?  I won.   In my household pajamas are what you wear to bed or for lounging.  The man in the house is so uptight he won't even take out the garbage without changing into street clothes.

In my estimation people who wear pajamas, or underwear, in public are;

• too lazy to get dressed
• have no money for real clothing
• do not know any better

I often think that the fashion/entertainment industry has bestowed this generation with all their nasty habits.  Perhaps we should issue a challenge for a more acceptable street dress.  Or educate our young that what they see in the media is really entertainers wearing costumes.

Who said you could wear Pajamas in public?   No one asked me!
